WAR: AGAINST MEN OR AGAINST THE ENVIRONMENT?

February 24, 2022 is one of those dates that will remain etched in memory forever.

That day Russia began the invasion of Ukraine, starting a war that, even today, reaps victims and affects industries and families.

The damages that war brings, however, are enormous for both nature and the environment: from the destruction of ecosystems, to the pollution of soil, air and water, until the increase of carbon dioxide in the air that worsens global conditions and aggravates climate change.

On the bright side, the war between Russia and Ukraine has pushed us to find more reliable sources of energy, because our energy sources have become very expensive and we have to find other options.

This could be a good opportunity to start using renewable energy that is better for the environment.

Renewable energy sources are forms of energy that respect resources from the natural world.

They do not pollute and do not exhaust, since they have the ability to regenerate at the end of the cycle.

Renewable energies that are increasingly emerging in our country as “future” energy are: solar, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric, marine and biomass.

The war in Ukraine is certainly very close to us who are affected by it, although indirectly; but the war with the environment affects each one of us in a direct and inevitable way.

GUERRA: CON GLI UOMINI O CON L’AMBIENTE?

Il 24 febbraio 2022 è una di quelle date che rimarranno impresse nella memoria per sempre.

Quel giorno la Russia ha iniziato l’invasione dell’Ucraina, dando avvio ad una guerra che, ancora oggi, miete vittime e colpisce industrie e famiglie.

I danni che la guerra porta, tuttavia, sono enormi per la natura e per l’ambiente: dalla distruzione degli ecosistemi, all’inquinamento del suolo, dell’aria e dell’acqua, fino all’aumento dell’anidride carbonica nell’aria che peggiora le condizioni globali e aggrava il cambiamento climatico.

Guardando il lato positivo, la guerra tra Russia e Ucraina ci ha spinto a trovare fonti di energia più affidabili, poiché le nostre fonti energetiche sono diventate molto costose e dobbiamo trovare altre opzioni.

Questa potrebbe essere una buona opportunità per utilizzare l’energia rinnovabile che è migliore per l’ambiente.

Le fonti energetiche rinnovabili sono forme di energia che rispettano le risorse provenienti dal mondo naturale. Non inquinano e non si esauriscono, dal momento che hanno la capacità di rigenerarsi a fine ciclo.

Le energie rinnovabili che si stanno sempre più affermando nel nostro Paese come energie “del futuro” sono: l’energia solare, eolica, geotermica, idroelettrica, marina e da biomasse.

La guerra in Ucraina è sicuramente molto vicina a noi che, anche se in modo indiretto, ne risentiamo; ma la guerra con l’ambiente riguarda ognuno di noi in modo diretto e inevitabile.
