Podcasts from our Workshop 2023 on ‘Boundaries’
During our international online workshop on the topic of “Boundaries”, which was held from October 18 to 20, 2023, by the trait d`union teams of the Liceo Sesto Properzio Assisi/Italy (LSP) and the Gisela-Gymnasium Munich/Germany (GGM), the Italian and German students formed four teams to work on the following topics:
Team n° 1, to which Adélie Meyer (GGM), Alessia Trasacco (LSP), Emily Mela (LSP), Hannah Rath (GGM) and Martina Polvere (LSP) belonged, focused on the topic of “Limits of charity”: Helping to the point of self-sacrifice? What risks does this entail? What limits must be set to avoid them? How do you find the right balance between the desire to help and taking your own resources and needs into account?
Team n° 2, in which Arianna Cassoni (LSP), Calina Spott (GGM), Desiree Cagliesi (LSP), Eleonora Sensi (LSP), Julius Podszun (GGM) and Mariia Bondarenko (GGM) worked together, dealt with the following topic: “No way. That doesn`t exist.” Should we accept existing boundaries? Do we accept restrictions out of respect for cultural rules or simply out of convenience? Which boundaries can and should we overcome?
Team n° 3, consisting of Edoardo Marri (LSP) and Nicole Piri (LSP) addressed the topic of “Social inequality”: While for some people the opportunities to shape their lives are seemingly unlimited, the majority encounter all kinds of restrictions daily, including economic, financial, social, ethnic, generational and gender-related ones. Especially the coronavirus pandemic has shown that wealthy people have completely different ways of coping with such a difficult situation than poor people.
Team n° 4, whose podcasters were Aurora Santucci (LSP), Emily (GGM), Francesca Cappelletti (LSP) and Jamie Nguyen (GGM), discussed these questions: “Is there still privacy left in social media?” What are the risks of using social media? Can you use social media without compromising your privacy? What do you have to consider?
At the end of the 2023/24 school year, classes 8c and 8d of the Gisela-Gymnasium organized a large jingle composition competition with the GarageBand app in music lessons under the kind direction of Ms. Janine Apitz. The jingles used for the opening of podcasts no. 1 and no. 2 were created by Anna Schein, Carlina Stroux and Sedef Sali. The royalty-free jingles in the 3rd podcast were found on the ‘Italian Internet’. The jingle used for podcast no. 4 was created by Felix Gumiel de Soto, Frederic Worm and Julien Winter.
Desiree Cagliesi (LSP) designed the logo for the four podcasts and Malina Moser (GGM) announced them.
