Hi Johannes, I think that the state has the most important role in this situation. In Italy we have loads of graduetes who wait only the opportunity to work. If we introduce a course to allow them to learn how to deal with migrants, many young people'll come in contact with them; so we would achieve two goals: migrants'll learn our language and our culture, and we europeans'll get used to them. for the same reason it is also important to allocate them in various parts of the state, so that migrants would become an element of union and not of discord.

An interesting Article Egidio, about a very important topic. Here in Germany there are many voices claiming that immigrants will steel their jobs as well. I agree with you, that education and communication are key aspects in handling this situation. But how would you go about doing that, because educating all immigrants isn’t the easiest thing to do? Should the state found teachers?

The opportunity of immigration

Every day hundreds of people, people like us, leave their native land to search a better life in europe.
The phenomen of immigration it`s been discussed a lot in the last years, and some politicians have proposed their solutions; however, only few seem to consider the human aspect of the question: while they`re talking people are dying in the sea, trying to reach liberty.
Besides this, the other big problem that this indecision creates is that, in Italy, if the rights of migrants aren`t protected by the law, these are exploited by criminal organisations.
Who consider immigration like a problem doesn`t see the real situation: we aren`t able to manage it. I`ll say more: if we integrate them, they`ll become a resource for us; they could become the working engine of our community, they could help us to find the solution to this economic crisis.
Some people think that non-community residents will become a risk for their own jobs or that they "stole" job to italians. They don`t consider that we all pay for migrants if they can`t find a job, and that they have to be educated; this is an intersting point, because we must educate them and so non-community residents could actually give job opportunities to a lot of us.
That`s why integration is so important for the european community.
